How do I know I need your services?
If you’re too busy to clean, feeling overwhelmed by clutter, or just tired of mess, you need Live Simple Now!
What else do you offer besides a regular clean?
We offer a variety of services to fit your needs such as deep cleans, move in/out cleaning, before/after event cleaning, rental cleans, business cleaning, pick-up and delivery laundry service, retirement downsizing, decluttering homes and businesses, and house inspections for landlords.
How do you price jobs?
We estimate pricing on size and condition. Some clients have other needs - properties that were not professionally cleaned in a long time, with a significant amount of clutter, animal fur, or special surfaces. To be sure we’re better prepared to achieve the results our clients deserve, we offer a free job viewing to ensure price accuracy. This will be an estimate as the amount of time required can vary. The hourly rate will stay the same. We work with the client's budget in mind.
For example, if a client books a typical 3-bedroom 2-bath home, and the pre-assessment shows there is a lot of what we call “life activity” - several kids or pets, we would need to send more cleaners in and for a longer time than for a typical home - so it would cost more.
On the other hand, you can have a much larger property but pre-assessment showed you’re not actively using most of it and it doesn’t have a lot of dust, clutter, or complicated situations. This means fewer maids and fewer hours would do the trick.
Either way, we’d rather let you know ahead of time so you can discuss the scope of work and budget and decide before the job.
When do I have to pay?
A deposit of $100 is required to reserve the specific days for your cleaning or decluttering project to start with. This will be preferably a bank deposit, before the job proceeds. Then the rest of the balance is due at the end of the project and will be invoiced. Regular cleaning or decluttering services will be charged after our service and an automatic payment will be set up once the cleaning service is established and scheduled.
How do your prices compare to other companies?
Based on our research, we are not the least expensive (albeit not the most either) company in town. We provide a flat hourly rate with no add-ons for extra services required throughout the home or business. What areas of Taranaki do you service?
At the moment our cleaning team provides a regular service in Hawera, Patea and Ohawe. Happy to provide regular cleaning services in other areas of Taranaki but that will only be available if there's high demand, so spread the word and tell your neighbours! Our decluttering service is available Taranaki wide and so are our one-off cleaning services. Travel costs will apply. Enquire for an estimate price from Charlotte.
What time should I choose for cleaning or decluttering?
We try hard to book a time that suits the client but also our employees. Generally 9am-3pm Monday-Friday is most popular. Sometimes we could work weekends or nights but this would not be a regular service. You are welcome to chat with us about your needs when enquiring or booking.
What about the supplies?
We are constantly researching to use the most effective and greenest possible solutions. We bring all of our own eco-friendly supplies for the home cleaning service. But sometimes eco-products are not strong enough to remove the discolorations or bad cases of mold. We will give you the option of using something stronger, e.g. to white out the bottom of the shower stall or kill mold. But if you have a specific solution or tool you'd like us to use, your wish is our command.
How many people should I expect to come to my home?
We’ll arrive with at least 1-2 team members the first time, maybe 3 for bigger homes.
Will I always get the same crew?
We try our best but we can't guarantee it. Sometimes members of our team might be sick and for us to provide a quality reliable service we will need to cover that person with a new trusted team member.
Do I need to be home for cleaning?
No. Just leave a key for us and let us know how to access your place. We will clean and lock the door after ourselves.
How long will it take to clean my home?
Our estimate is typically based on a 1 hour per bedroom rate. We perform our cleaning for a standard home in a reasonable amount of time. There are homes that are extremely large or require much more attention, therefore require pricing adjustments. The first time takes longer as we learn what works best for your home and where everything is located. Also, it depends on what condition your home is in. Some people keep operating room conditions at the home and just require a touch-up or additional services. Others have three teenagers, a dog, and two jobs. We're here to help. But it may take us a little longer to bring your home into tip-top shape. Generally, it will take between two to three hours for a smaller home cleaning service and three to four hours for a larger home cleaning service. If additional time is required based on the unique conditions of your home, we will communicate promptly and give you the options.
What is a professional decluttering guide?
A professional decluttering guide enhances the lives of clients by teaching them to let go of and remove things you don't need or use to make your space more pleasant and useful. A declutter guide, helps individuals and businesses take control of their surroundings, their time, their paper, and their systems for life.
How do I reserve time for my project?
Contact us so we can discuss your project and current availability. Also, you can fill in the enquiry form and we will be in touch.
How much do I need to be involved in the project?
All services are designed to be left in the hands of the professionals, however, participation is encouraged whenever possible, as you will learn more and the project will go quicker and cost less if you and others are pitching in. However, your participation is only required during any decluttering, to answer quick questions, which can be done via text or call if you're not able to be present.
Will I have to get rid of all my stuff?
No. We know how much your belongings mean to you, and we're not here to “clean out” your stuff. We are here to work with you toward making your home a place where you feel comfortable and are able to function. Often, getting there means that some “stuff” will have to go – but we will never make the decision for you, we’ll work together to make the best decision for your goal.
Do I need to buy organising materials?
Every home organisation project is different, and it really depends on a number of factors such as the type and number of items you have, the design and functionality of the area being organised, and personal preferences regarding aesthetics and functionality. Live Simple Now encourages reusing what you already have before purchasing new items, and they will help you select and source the proper materials according to your needs, budget, and personal preferences when the time comes.
Will you help me shop for items to improve my space?
Yes and we also have some sustainable items to purchase if preferred.
Do you design wardrobes?
As organisers, we do not ‘construct’ wardrobe interiors. Instead, I redesign your wardrobes by working with you to optimise the usage of the space that you have. If you are looking to rebuild your wardrobe you will need to organise your own builder.
Is my project customisable?
Yes. Every project is unique and is personalised to complement your daily routines, aesthetic preferences, functionality, and lifestyle.
Do I have to declutter?
This changes from project to project and will be determined during your consultation. The important thing to keep in mind is that Live Simple Now is here to help you create a simple, functional, and clutter-free home. This means you may need to declutter in order to achieve the results you're looking for. The Live Simple Now team has no personal investment in "how much" you keep or don't keep, and will always provide you with honest feedback and set realistic expectations to help you achieve your goals.
